Doggie Auditions

Thursday night I received an email about Disney's Casting Call for a "bark on roll" in the next canine Disney movie. I made a few calls to invite some of Auggie's doggie friends, threw him in the bath and got him all squeaky clean. He packed up some treats and eye-catching outfits and went to sleep dreaming about becoming a star. The next morning we woke up bright and early to head down to Centennial Olympic Park to participate in the festivities!

Auggie had a blast and met some new friends. We signed up for the auditions and got our number-we were number NINE of about 30 entrants! While we were waiting in line with our doggie friends, I started to feel somewhat like a pageant mom from one of those shows on TV. I had my drool rag for Auggie's slober and kept making sure his collar was on "just right!" When it was finally our turn to walk the doggie catwalk, a local radio DJ announced Auggie and he strutted his stuff for the crowd! He was much larger and goofier than most of the other canine contestants, but hopefully he worked it enough for the camera to get his call back soon!

If it turns out that Hollywood isn't quite ready for a dog like Auggie, at least we can say he had fun getting lots of petting and treats, as well as being a great ambassador for the bully breed. A job well done in my opinion! Plus, he really enjoyed the stuffed Chihuahua toy he got to bring home as a souvenir.
